Middle Tennessee State University is the largest of the Tennessee Board of Regents Universities, with a total enrollment of over 20,000 students. Media facilities on campus include MTTV Channel 10, a student-run cable-access channel, and WMTS, a student-run alternative music station. The Mass Communication program is located in the recently built Mass Communication Building, a facility that contains state-of-the-art broadcasting, recording, and digital studio and editing equipment. Also, Nashville—home to one of the largest recording and media production economies in the country—is just 25 miles north of campus, a convenient 40 minute drive up Interstate 24.
